1. Parliament was a funk band formed in the late s by George Clinton as part of his Parliament-Funkadelic collective. Less rock-oriented than its sister act Funkadelic, Parliament drew on science-fiction and outlandish performances in their work. The band scored a number of Top 10 hits, including the million-selling single "Give Up the Funk," and Top 40 albums such as Mothership.

2. The track "The Landing" is a musical montage that mixes clips of various P-Funk recordings with broadcast news-style commentary from George Clinton. The original vinyl release contained a 22 × 33" inch poster of George Clinton dressed as Dr. Funkenstein, as well as an iron-on T-shirt transfer that boasted the slogan "Take Funk To Heaven in '77!".

7. "Atomic Dog" is a song by George Clinton from his album Computer Games. The track was released as a single in December and became the P-Funk collective's last to reach #1 on the U.S. R&B Chart. The single failed to chart on the Billboard Hot although it has attained a level of stature since then, partly due to its having been sampled in several hip hop songs.
